NAMA : An Asian Journal of Visual Storytelling

is a journal of important Asian stories, by Asian documentary photographers, for all.

‘Nama’ means raw, fresh, unprocessed and uncensored in Japanese 

Nama will begin life as an annual publication focusing on photo essays, documentary film reviews and interviews, but may grow into a quarterly or monthly magazine. Nama will not cover software or gear-related topics.  The first issue is expected early 2013.

Nama will be distributed through independent bookstores and will be free of charge to DAA members.  Submissions are open for single images on the topic of “Islam in Asia” for the first issue.    For other submissions please write editor@documentary-arts-asia.org
